Space in Time
I reimagined Kae Tempest’s lyrics through a hand-built phenakistoscope, turning their words into a looping visual sequence that only comes alive through the lens of a camera. Spun on a record player, the piece plays with rhythm, motion and repetition, transforming the spoken cadence into an optical animation. It sits somewhere between analogue craft and digital thinking, using an old mechanical trick to echo the pulse and momentum of Tempest’s writing.
